Welcome to the Sustainable Martian Technology Hackathon!

 

Join us for on March 7th, 2026 for SMTH2026 to design and pitch your EarthxMARS innovations & advance translational technologies for Earth & Mars.

Mission to Mars: Translational Technologies

The 2nd Ed of the Sustainable Martian Technology Hackathon is co-organized by The Mars Society of Canada and Space Concordia and takes place on March 7th, 2026 at the John Molson School of Business Conference Center, Concordia University in Montreal. This event will be open to advanced undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates. The Hackathon aims to build entrepreneurial skills by developing innovative technological solutions for both Earth, Mars and future space missions.

We invite teams of 3 to 5 people to register and submit a brief description (under 200 words) of your SMTH project to below in "Submit your Hackathon Project".

Mission of SMTH2026:

Propulsion systems for space and Martian atmosphere

Space health and biotechnology for sustaining life in space

Wide range of robotics applications to space exploration

Wide range of spacecraft applications to space exploration

Our long-term goal is to bring together brilliant minds, engineers, and visionaries to push the boundaries of technology and overcome the obstacles of interplanetary living. Through this hackathon, we aim to create a platform for innovative ideas that can shape the future of space exploration.
